11. Between wireless control and touch sensors, another form of ranging and movement used for robots is the costly usage of LIDAR, or light-direction-and-range (Albus and Engleberger 585).
12. Tasks for robots are almost unlimited, though they would be particularly helpful for jobs that require years of training and education (Albus and Engleberger 585).
13. Robots began to be powered similarly to computers witch the tranisitor, where its components were like "sandwiches", that consisted of layers, conductors, and wires (Jones 21).
14. A reasonable exception to humans killing humans in wars would be robots destroying robots, to which the only setback would be a lot of scrap metal laying around (Arrick).
15. This is an area of technology that the people want to advance, grow, and develop in (Gates).
16. By pushing robotics further and further up in the world of applied science, the rest of technology is also affected, particularly by concurrent programming with the ability to run multiple programs simultaneously (Gates).
17. All signs point to the fact that soon enough, robots will be a part of our everyday lives, and Japan is a lead example for this fact as they lead the race in robotic development (Arrick).
18. Aside from robots aforementioned areas, the United States has been working to put robots on a more personal level with people, in hopes to catch up with Japan in the robotic race (Albus and Engleberger 585).
19. Compared to just a few years ago, robots have taken a large step from doing a simple task in the household to taking on dangerous responsibilities that would be otherwise life-threatening to a human (Gates).
20. Money has always been a large issue with robots, although not as much in the industry as in personal lives, when robots were first introduced, most would rather have a paid by the hour employee rather than a costly robot (Jones 23).
21. Cognitive computers and robots can be related to humans in pertaining to how the mind operates (Thilmany 14).
22. Robots essentially are slaves as they are forced to do tasks for humans, and have been doing tasks for humans since the Greeks made moving statues (Arrick).
23. Not every human sense is needed on a robot, ergo the understandment of the senses it does use is a more important aspect than the actual senses themselves (Albus and Engleberger 585).
24. Concurrency is essentially the ultimate solution to all of the technological problems in a robot's brain, however the concurrent programming itself is a large technological problem, to where data is received and processed before indicating how the robot will respond, and then repeating the process over again (Gates).
25. Even with unlimited possibilities, the specific actions and jobs for robots are unknown as they may do just about anything, and everything it may do would be beneficial to man (Gates).
Steph Bell! That's me. Sixteen years old and livin life as it comes. Carpe Diem, baby. I adore the Latin language, and really wish it were offered at my school, but yeah yeah I know. It's a dead language. Whatever. It's still an awesome language. I plan on graduating high school and attending college for my Bachelor's Degree to become either a professional photographer or a history teacher. Should it be the latter, I will probably go back to college for my Master's to be a college professor. I could tell you as much as I can about just about anything I've learned in history. I adore historical/drama movies for the obvious reasons. Valkyrie, Alexander, Gettysburg, JFK, Pearl Harbor, Saving Private Ryan. All amazing. I also have the relentless desire to see Defiance, W. (mainly because I wanna see how Oliver Stone exploited GWB. whom I, along with everybody else in the nation, hated as a president), Frost/Nixon, Der Untergang (Downfall), and quite a few others.
Now, I also love to write. I would aspire to be a writer if I could ever finish a thought, haha. I've been working on a storyline for about a year and a half now and change what's going on every other week, so who knows when that will ever be done.
Music plays a big role in my life. I try not to fall into the line of mainstream, and I'd say I do at least a half-decent job at it. I hate nearly every radio station where I live because it's all hip hop, or rap, or Justin Timberlake. And don't get me wrong, I have nothing SERIOUSLY wrong with those kinds of music, but I just don't like it (sorry, Justin). I'm definitely more of a rock person. I love my rock music. However, I do like about 4 or 5 country songs and there's a couple rap songs I like, and I actually enjoyed Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak album. But regardless.
I am in my high school marching band, but I don't march - thank God. I'm the section leader for the Front Ensemble (though, tecnically because I didn't get an interview, my title is Captain). And I love it. I used to play Clarinet, but I apparently didn't know what I missing when I signed up for that. I wouldn't trade anything for percussion.
The Men: the Tin Man & Batman. I wanted to be Batman when I was little.:) And in my freshman year in high school, somebody was really mad about something I had done and they called me the Tin Man and to get a heart. I actually thought it was kinda cool. So it just stuck. Ironically though, I have a huge heart. I'm very kind (not to sound conceited or anything) and I love to help out others.
I love to read. And before I get to what I like, I'd like to say something that will possibly offend every girl in the world. TWILIGHT HAS TURNED INTO A DISGRACE. Seriously. I read all the books last summer before Breaking Dawn came out and I pretty much loved em. Breaking Dawn came out and let me just say this: it took me 2 months before I finished reading it. I hated it. And lemme say this, it took me 4 days to read the last Harry Potter book. But now, Twilight is just pathetic. It's turned stupid. The movie was god-awful and I will only continue to watch them to make fun of them. Because, trust me, it's not cause I like em. Anyway, now: The Harry Potter series rocked my world :) And I don't care how much the movies suck, I always get psyched whenever I hear a release date for one. I cried when Dumbledore died in Half-Blood Prince, and I threw Deathly Hollows across the room when Snape died. Granted, I haven't read every book a million times, but I've read 1, 4, 5, 6, and 7 twice. I lost 2 and 3 somewhere when I moved, so when I find them, I'll get back to reading them.
Though I am currently not joining any roleplays at the moment, feel free to leave your ad. However, please please please if it's Twilight, 2nd Generation Harry Potter, College, High school, something with a not very interesting plot, please, keep it to yourself. Because even if I WERE joining roleplays, I wouldn't join any of those. Also, nothing that allows chat speak, non-actor/model portrayals (I hate seeing pictures of emo kids everywhere.), and with little activity. Kthanks.
You're like Sam! And I'm Dean!
Why are you Dean? Well..let's face it. I'm much more Dean-Quality than you are.
Bradley B. Miskelly
Why'd you show me that?
To remind you of who we are. You're the bright, energectic Mrs. Lovette with hopes and dreams. And I'm Mr. Todd - who lost everything and just kind of drags on, taking life as it comes. I don't like that comparison.
But you love the song.
-heavy British accent- Sure do, Mr. T.
